Product Story

Inspired by historical examples of travertine constructions such as the Colosseum and Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome, and the 1970s revival of the material in Southern Europe, the Epic Coffee Table combines two simple geometric shapes, with references to the classical Greek column. The varying heights and diameters within the series mean a single monochromatic table can stand alone or be combined in dynamic clusters of varying height, colour and material. A celebration of the classical in an altogether modern expression.
  • Made in Italy from travertine, a form of limestone (similar to marble) found near natural mineral springs.
  • The table's monolithic form emphasizes the materiality of this stone, the natural beauty of its veins, and the vibrant texture of its unique patina.
  • Available in other finishes, sizes, and as a matching dining table. To enquire please contact our in store team, or advice line: 0333 121 1915, Option 1.
  • Note: due to the natural characteristics of travertine, each piece will be visually unique.

Care & Buying Guide

Daily Use

Avoid pulling, sliding, or dragging objects across the surface, as abrasive friction can cause scratches.

Coasters and trivets are advised to minimise exposure to heat. Do not put cookware or other high heat objects directly onto the surface.

Use a damp, soft cloth to wipe surface.

Do not use scouring pads, acidic detergents, or abrasive cleaning products, which may permanently scratch, stain, or damage the surface.

Travertine is porous, and will absorb stains from acidic liquids such as vinegar, wine, fruit juices, coffee and tea. Clean spills immediately with a soft damp cloth and neutral soap.

Treatment of GUBI’s travertine tops should be performed by a professional, or at the customer's own risk.

Prolonged exposure to sunlight will cause fading over time, and discolouration can occur when objects placed on the surface are left in the same place for long periods.

Excessive weight or impact can crack travertine, as well as extended exposure to moisture.
