As an emerging independent design studio, aeand studio is focused on continuing to develop it’s product offering by collaborating with other brands and designers. We are proud to say Heal's is one of those collaborators and Alessandra has produced a wonderful collection of cushions, exclusive to us.
Alessandra's series of cushion designs for Heal's have been inspired by African mud buildings and architecture. Where possible, natural and sustainable materials are used, such a linen and recycled cotton rag paper and the natural imperfections in these materials are an integral part to the aeand studio aesthetic.
All print work is produced in small batches and screen printed by hand. Inspired by the use of natural materials and earth tones, as well as travel and different cultural aesthetics, Alessandra creates her compositions by analysing and abstracting shapes into simple and playful forms. Using cutout and collage, as well as line drawing to build a library of shapes, this modular approach allows for a more spontaneous end result.
