This print shows Henri Matisse’s cover design for Verve Magazine in 1937. Verve was an arts magazine published by Tériade, who also commissioned Jazz. In the earliest cover shown here, two black figures dance energetically on a green background with white stars. The letters of "VERVE" appear as scattered letters "VE" and "R" in orange on purple.
