Commemorative tray

The modern incandescent lightbulb,with a coiled filament of tungsten, was commercialised in the 1920's, developed from the carbon filament lamp introduced around 1880. Heal’s was early to sell electrical lamps, and early designs, such as this one, were often based on Arts & Crafts lamp designs.

Heal’s 100, is a curated exhibition showing the 100 best items sold at Heal’s in the last 100 years. The selection of products is not only based on what the company sells today, but also pieces from Heal’s archive, now held by the V&A museum.
