Dynamic Design Duo
Newgate was founded in 1991 by husband and wife duo Chloe and Jim Read who, drawing on their passion for great design, immediately set about revolutionising the clock industry. Together they’ve transformed previously functional timepieces into must-have design objects.
Re-discovered and Re-loved
Inspired by their travels led the pair to rediscover iconic clocks from the past, from industrial railway clocks from European train stations to mid-century factory wall clocks. They found these designs were on the verge of being forgotten because they were so difficult to manufacture.
