Summer may be coming to an end, but there\u2019s still plenty to enjoy in the capital. The London Design Festival is set to kick off this week, celebrating the best that London has to offer by the way of design. LDF has become a highlight of the design lovers\u2019 calendar with exciting, innovative and inspiring exhibitions and events taking place across the capital over the course of the week.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve rounded up just a few of the best things to see during London Design Festival 2017.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Decorex<\/span><\/h2>\n

First up is Decorex<\/a><\/span>. Set in the grounds of Syon Park in West London, Decorex 2017 brings together more than 400 of the most recognised and emerging exhibitor\u2019s worldwide. The 3-day event is a staple part of the LDF line up with plenty to see and discover.<\/p>\n

The theme for this year is ‘collaboration’ so expect to see celebrations of past partnerships from its 40-year history as well as future projects.<\/p>\n

As well as the stands of luxury retailers, be sure to explore the notable feature spaces; we suggest Design Sense \u2013 four areas influenced by our sense of touch, smell, sight, and sound.<\/p>\n

Heal\u2019s LDF Installation & Party<\/span><\/h2>\n

As part of this year’s London Design Festival, we teamed up with award-winning architecture firm Jestico + Whiles<\/span><\/a>, to create a colourful installation in our Tottenham Court Road store.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the colours and textures of our new Autumn\/Winter collection, a wave of ribbons flows through the ground floor of our showroom creating a colourful installation.<\/p>\n

Each and every piece of ribbon was hand cut by members of the Heal’s team.<\/p>\n

Come and take a closer look at our Scandi-themed LDF party<\/a><\/span> which is taking place on Wednesday 20th<\/sup> September. Join us for a number of free workshops, including a crafting and ceramic painting, as well as live music, free food and cocktails.<\/p>\n

Designjunction<\/span><\/h2>\n

Since 2011, the\u00a0designjunction<\/a><\/span> has continued to break the mold of the traditional trade show presenting more than 200 brands in raw industrial locations.<\/p>\n

With the aim of connecting brands with design lovers from every field, this years\u2019 designjunction will host a series of installations, exhibitions, collaborations and pop-up shops over the four day period.<\/p>\n

The event is spread across five locations in King\u2019s Cross: Cubitt House and Cubitt Park, The Canopy, Granary Square and The Crossing. Be sure to check out collaborations with the likes of Rado, Tala and Renault and bespoke installations from Bloomon and Blackbody & Haviland.<\/p>\n

Also high on our list is the \u2018Campari barge\u2019, a floating cocktail bar which is taking up a two-week residency on the King\u2019s Cross waterway.<\/p>\n

Mazzoleni Invites: DimoreGallery | (Un)comfort Zone<\/span><\/h2>\n

This year, Mayfair joins the list of design districts alongside Bankside, Brompton, Brixton, Chelsea, Clerkenwell, Islington and Shoreditch.<\/p>\n

Found in the heart of the new district is the Mazzoleni Gallery that is launching a new series of collaborations, the first being with the Dimore Gallery. \u2018Mazzoleni Invites: Dimore Gallery<\/a><\/span>\u2019 features five rooms inspired by post-war Italian art that the Mazzoleni Gallery is known for.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m intrigued to see how the rooms have been styled and what story they are telling. Each viewer will infer something different from the spaces based on their past experiences which I think will be really interesting.\u201d Victoria Erdelevskaya, Heal\u2019s Photographer and Rich Media Coordinator<\/em><\/p>\n

Visible only through a porthole, each room invites observation, giving a sense that you are peering into a private space where classic and contemporary intertwine effortlessly. Curated by Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci of DimoreGallery, the unexpected and layered set up will showcase extra-ordinary objects and design pieces alongside paintings from the Mazzoleni inventory.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Perfume at Somerset House<\/span><\/h2>\n

Providing an alternative sensory experience is \u2018Perfume: A Sensory Journey Through Contemporary Scent<\/a><\/span>\u2019 taking place at Somerset House where visitors are encouraged to follow their nose rather than their eyes.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cLDF provides hundreds of opportunities for a visual treat, but it\u2019s rare that such a cohesive and exciting exhibition is centered around another sense entirely. It will be really interesting to see how an exhibition is put together without many visual cues.\u201d Kate MacNay, Heal\u2019s Content Coordinator<\/em><\/p>\n

The show focuses on ten 21st-century perfumes that are changing the way we think about scent, and which smells are acceptable. Guests can explore contemporary cult perfumes making a splash on the scent scene and visit a fully functioning perfume laboratory stocked with over 200 ingredients.<\/p>\n
