Italian design house Moroso<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is truly a force to be reckoned with.<\/strong> Known for its\u00a0daring spirit, the brand\u00a0has been making waves at Heal’s since their introduction as part of our Designer Collections<\/a><\/span> in 2016.<\/p>\n

A family run business since 1952, the origins of the brand\u00a0lie in postwar Italy during a period of\u00a0great national optimism for\u00a0design and its potential to improve people’s lives both economically and on an everyday basis. Now run by the second wave of the Moroso family, headed by CEO Roberto and Creative Director Patrizia, this spirit lives on today with the\u00a0brand\u00a0priding itself on working with established and emerging designers\u00a0including a number of names that will be familiar to Heal’s fans such as Patricia Urquiola<\/a><\/span>, Tom Dixon<\/a><\/span>, Ron Arad<\/a><\/span> and Antonio Citterio<\/a><\/span>. Who better to explain the ethos of the iconic brand than Patrizia Moroso herself:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe story of Moroso is the story of our relationships with designers, people who, with intelligence and with the passion which always inspires artists in the face of beauty, are trying to change the world for the better. I ask them not to imagine a single object, but to imagine a new world and project it into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moroso designs are borne out of a desire to do something never done before. Designs must offer something new \u2013 not merely be remakes of that which already exists. This makes for a collection that doesn\u2019t have a traditional look and feel, but instead a selection of unique, carefully crafted pieces that push the boundaries of design.<\/p>\n

One of Moroso\u2019s most recignisable designs, the Supernatural Chair<\/a><\/span>, was designed by Ross Lovegrove. It features holes that weren\u2019t added for decoration, but to make the chair as light as possible.<\/p>\n
