We\u2019re not revealing the pieces just yet, but we<em> can<\/em> introduce you to the designers behind the products.<\/p>\n<p><em>First up, <\/em><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><em>Ester Comunello<\/em><\/span><em>, who grew up playing with the tools in her family\u2019s wood carving workshop in rural Brazil. With a firm grip on these (and foreign languages, which were her first degree) she\u2019s forging ahead in her design career\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Born in Treze T<strong>\u00ed<\/strong>lias, Brazil, Ester moved to the UK in 2004. She first studied Contemporary Furniture and Product design at Bucks New University, before joining the university\u2019s MA programme, which she completed in January 2014. Throughout her studies Ester worked on projects with companies including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/brand\/ercol\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Ercol<\/span><\/a>, Isokon, Corian, Gloster, Lago and All Lovely Stuff, and in 2012 she was a runner up at the Student Furniture Designer of the Year Award.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Going right in with a big question, how would you describe good design?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Good design is thoughtful design. It embodies well-considered materials and production processes, but also objects that fulfil their purpose, both functionally and emotionally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Which Heal\u2019s designer \u2013 from any era &#8211; inspires you and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Alex Hellum<\/span>. His practical approach to design and honest use of materials make for timeless objects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where in the world have you been inspired?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anything can trigger inspiration, but I feel particularly drawn to craft techniques and cultural aspects of Nordic countries; they feel exotic and fascinating to me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Finally, and this doesn\u2019t have to be design related, what are your three favourite things, and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My work, my family and my dog are the main driving forces in my life.
