To mark the occasion, we\u2019re paying homage to three iconic chairs to have shaped tastes and spaces since their introduction to homes over the last 50 years, as well as hosting a special exhibition in collaboration with Kingston University. We, for one, can\u2019t wait.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Timeless chairs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The chairs are the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/sofas\/togo.html\">Togo<\/a>\u00a0by Michel Ducaroy for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/brand\/ligne-roset.html\">Ligne Roset<\/a>, which marks its 50<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary this year, the iconic\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/arne-jacobsen-egg-chair.html\">Egg chair<\/a>\u00a0by Arne Jacobsen for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/brand\/fritz-hansen.html\">Fritz Hansen<\/a>, which turns 65, and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/forum-lounge-chair.html\">Forum armchair<\/a>\u00a0by Robin Day and relaunched by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/brand\/case.html\">Case<\/a> this year, which celebrates its 60<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instantly recognisable by its distinctive shape, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/sofas\/togo.html\">Togo<\/a> has remained a cult classic, characterised by modular pieces with crumpled pleats. Ducaroy expertly designed the settee with five different densities of foam while upholstering them in durable Alcantara fabric with a suede-like texture that exudes luxury.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Artboard-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"514\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Artboard-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28801\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Artboard-1.jpg 720w, https:\/\/www.heals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Artboard-1-300x214.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Arne Jacobsen designed the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in the 1950s, he also created the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/arne-jacobsen-egg-chair.html\">Egg<\/a>, now a symbol of cutting-edge Danish design. The design was the first to use a strong foam inner-shell underneath the upholstery and remains as futuristic-looking today as it was back when it was first conceived.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Artboard-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"576\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Artboard-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28802\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Artboard-2.jpg 576w, https:\/\/www.heals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Artboard-2-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Originally designed by Robin Day in 1964, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/forum-lounge-chair.html\">Forum<\/a> is an icon of Mid-Century design, now revitalised through modern production and materials. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/brand\/case.html\">Case<\/a> has worked in close partnership with the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation to sympathetically reinstate the chair featuring a hardwood frame with beautiful finger joint detail supported by chrome plated legs mounted to the outside of the frame. Day purposefully exposed these elements to showcase the beauty of its form.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Artboard-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"514\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Artboard-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28803\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.heals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Artboard-3.jpg 720w, https:\/\/www.heals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Artboard-3-300x214.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shop all three chairs in-store or online to invest in true icons. The design process and story behind 10 pieces from Kingston University\u2019s show at New Designers will be exhibited at London Design Festival at Heal\u2019s newly extended flagship store on Tottenham Court Road.
