Well now’s your chance to find out. To celebrate the Heal’s Festival of Light, we are offering you the chance to win lunch with Sir Kenneth Grange, the Design Director behind the iconic lighting brand Anglepoise, and walk away with your very own Type 75 Mini Desk Lamp in red from Anglepoise.
To be one of the three lucky winners, all you have to do is tweet or Instagram a picture that is inspired by lighting using @heals_furniture #HealsxAnglepoise. This could be a picture you have taken of some beautiful lighting, one of your own designs, not yet on the market, or something more abstract. Sir Kenneth Grange
Grange’s remarkable work spans half a century and his user-centered, often quintessentially British designs have helped shape the parameters of everyday life for so many. Not only everyday household brands like Kenwood, Parker, Kodak – and of course Anglepoise – have received the Kenneth Grange treatment but also the InterCity 125 train, the regional Royal Mail postbox and the latest London BlackTaxi.
A longstanding fan of Herbert Terry & Sons iconic lamp design, in 2003 Grange was appointed Design Director of Anglepoise. Shortly after his modern classic the Type 75 lamp was released becoming an instant best-seller and spawning a whole new range of articulated lighting for the brand. In 2011, Grange’s illustrious career was celebrated with a major exhibition at London’s Design Museum.
