Art-Deco Chromium-Plated Desk
This desk is a good example of Heal’s willingness to promote the best of modern design during the 1930s. In an age long before the laptop-based home office, it provided an efficient workstation in a limited space. Finished in eau-de-nil lacquer, it has an ivorine Heal & Son disc on the inside of the top drawer.
Heal’s 100, is a curated exhibition showing the 100 best items sold at Heal’s in the last 100 years. The selection of products is not only based on what the company sells today, but also pieces from Heal’s archive, now held by the V&A museum.
