Fired Up: Lyngard Ceramics

Lyngrad Ceramic Pendant Lighting

Nestled in the heart of the Potteries in Stoke-on-Trent, Lyngard Ceramics are continuing the areas rich cultural heritage through the production of beautiful hand-made pendant lights.

Headed by Carmen Pattinson, this family run ceramicists has a long lineage of pottery that dates back over six generations. Notable ancestors include Carmen’s great grandfather who, in 1945, was awarded an MBE from King George 6th for his services to the industry, as well as her great uncle Henry Stacy-Marks RA, a renowned artist who rose to prominence as one of the top designers at the Minton Art pottery Studio.

Having joined the family business as a successful fashion buyer, Carmen made the decision to diversify Lyngard’s repertoire by producing ceramic pendants and lamps, some of which form an exclusive collection only at available at Heal’s.

These include the elegantly shaped Bell Pendant as well as the trademark metallic lustre of the Raglan, whose unique finish comes from a technique practised by only a handful of experts worldwide.  Along with the angular and minimally styled Munro, the Raglan is produced using traditional earthenware, one of the oldest methods of firing clay.

Available as part of Heal’s modern lighting collection for 2015, Lyngard Ceramics captivating designs are sure to light up our showrooms for many seasons to come.
